9. Γιατί όχι;

Πολλοί άνθρωποι θεωρούν την ιδέα να ζήσουν σε ξένη χώρα ως μια τρομακτική σκέψη- αλλά όχι οι ομογενείς. Ίσως πρέπει να τους ρωτήσεις γιατί; Αλλά συνήθως θα σου απαντήσουν και γιατί όχι;

I’d love to go to Greece one day, all the culture and history. I’ve not met any Greek ex-pats, I have had plenty to do with Aussie expats and they too are open to all the points that you mentioned. Must be something about being an ex-pat!

I absolutely loved the way you broke things down – I can easily say that I agree with them all! Although the Greeks I know are living here in the states, they still fit this to a “T”!

Quite a few Country’s citizens are of the same mind; live life to the fullest everyday and keep it simple. Tomorrow will come and, if not, know that you lived it today.

I would totally be scared to be an expat, not going to lie. I am completely the opposite of the Greeks in this way. But they sound like they are able to really respect and even fuel the other cultures that they are becoming part of. That is amazing, to me. I would love to be able to do that.

When I was a teenager I read an article about ‘modern nomads’, later I understood that these were essentially expats and travel addicts. And already as a teenager I felt entirely drawn to it. I just can’t decide for one place to settle down.. there are so many places to go to and live for a while.

To be able to enjoy alone time is just glorious. Yup, we are social beings but sometimes alone time is also healthy – and so is having that thirst for learning. These make us grow and help us become better individuals.

We enjoyed the experience of being expats. We moved to England without having been to England before and we weren’t sure what to expect. It was a challenge sometimes.
